|2.1||A Complete Solution for Performance Analysis and Optimization in Pre-silicon Verification|
|For the higher performance oriented SoC, to satisfy the bandwidth or latency requirement, it is extremely crucial to analyze the system performance as earlier as possible. The incomplete or missing performance verification in pre-silicon would result in SoC re-spin after tape out. The legacy performance analysis method in pre-silicon has many weaknesses, which could not detect and fix the performance issue as earlier as possible, and it may request for another tape out if the performance loss result in the customer’s device functional failure. For "the complete solution for performance analysis and optimization in pre-silicon verification", it has been developed in-house and internally called ‘P2P’ (Performance analysis Tool for Pre-silicon). By the abstract submission date, P2P solution has been successfully used in three SoC chips’ performance evaluation and optimization without any performance issue reported from post-silicon test, and indeed contributed more in earlier performance issue detection and fix in pre-silicon.|
